About this collection
Very few photographs of Jatindra Nath Das survive in general circulation, and almost none of them carry a date, a photographer or a place. The collection above is small for that reason rather than by choice.
Items 05, 06, 07 and 08 are details drawn from a single modern commemorative composition. Where such a detail reproduces something historical — a newspaper masthead, a screened portrait — the caption says what can be read in it and no more.
How the images are displayed
No image on this site is cropped to fit a layout. Every photograph is rendered inside its own frame at its natural proportions, so that no face is cut and no document is trimmed. The full-size viewer never enlarges an image past its real resolution, which is why several items appear small: that is the size at which they exist.
